New Patients
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Your first visit includes a focused evaluation to understand your symptoms, movement patterns, and contributing factors. Most new patient appointments include:
-
A detailed discussion of your symptoms and medical history
-
A structural and functional examination
-
Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound when indicated
-
An explanation of findings and recommended treatment options
-
Osteopathic manipulation when appropriate
-
Discussion of exercises, activity modification, conservative care, or interventional options based on your goals
Each treatment plan is individualized and designed to help you understand what is contributing to your symptoms and how to improve your function.

What to Wear
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move easily. Athletic wear or everyday clothing that is not restrictive works well.

If ultrasound or examination requires direct skin access, you may be asked to adjust clothing or use a gown.
What to Expect After Osteopathic Manipulation (OMM)
Many patients feel improved mobility, ease of movement, or reduced discomfort shortly after treatment. It is also normal to experience:
-
Mild soreness for 12–24 hours
-
Temporary fatigue
-
Increased awareness of the treated area
Some patients notice the fullest benefits over the days to week following treatment, as the body continues to adjust and integrate the changes made during the visit. Typically you may return to your usual level of physical activity following treatment.
